916-918: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAdd NUMA-policy assertions for both scheduler implementations.
The new fixture checks only configuration and the boolean query. Existing staged-work and stealing tests do not select
local_queue_schedulerandlocal_priority_queue_schedulerwith NUMA levels and assert pending or staged cross-domain behavior. A regression can therefore make level 0 boundary-only, allow level 2 cross-domain steals, or allow level 1 non-boundary steals without failing the tests.Use one parameterized test body for both scheduler implementations and cover pending and staged work at levels 0, 1, and 2 on a multi-domain topology.

Thanks, the three levels now match what the help text describes, and the fixes for the bare option and My main concern is that this changes the effective default behavior. The default level is 0 without A few smaller points:

Thanks for the update, the default is now level 1 everywhere, which keeps the local-priority scheduler's default behaviour unchanged, and the distance-ordered sweep, the docs and the new test look good. A few remaining points:

One more data point for the docs sentence about the other schedulers: the work-requesting schedulers don't treat the setting as a boolean either, they ignore it entirely (see #7773). |

Thanks, all points from my last two comments are addressed: the schedulers that don't distinguish boundary workers now use numa_sensitive != 2, abp-priority gets the mode passed, the local scheduler uses get_numa_stealing_domains for its outside masks, the outer strict check is gone, get_numa_stealing_domains is exported, and the description mentions the new default of is_scheduler_numa_sensitive(). The fix for numa_sensitive_bind_none in HPX_AddTest.cmake also looks right: the failing runs got PSEUDO_DEPS_NAME numa_sensitive as program arguments and --hpx:bind=none twice (e.g. https://cdash.rostam.cct.lsu.edu/test/92901320), and both are fixed by making PSEUDO_DEPS_NAME a keyword of add_hpx_test and not appending --hpx:bind=none a second time.
One thing left in the docs and the help text: both list ABP-priority with the schedulers that "do not distinguish boundary workers". But the abp-priority schedulers are local_priority_queue_schedulers and now get the mode passed, so they behave like local-priority: at level 1 only boundary workers steal from the nearest domains. Please move ABP-priority to the local and local-priority group, in launching_and_configuring_hpx_applications.rst and in the --hpx:numa-sensitive help text.

Fixes #7744
Proposed Changes
--hpx:numa-sensitiveselect level 1 and validate configured values consistently.hpx::is_scheduler_numa_sensitive()to require an initialized runtime and report the configured setting.Any background context you want to provide?
The scheduler-mode conversion collapsed the original three-state setting into a boolean. This change carries the configured level into the affected schedulers while retaining the scheduler-mode flag for enabling and disabling cross-domain stealing. The default is now level 1, so the public
hpx::is_scheduler_numa_sensitive()query returnstrueby default; callers can explicitly select level 0 to getfalse.Work-requesting schedulers have a separate victim-selection implementation that does not yet read the NUMA mode on this branch. That support is tracked by #7773 and implemented in the stacked follow-up PR #7779.
