src/Immediate.Jobs.EntityFrameworkCore/EntityFrameworkCoreJobStorage.Query.cs:90-92
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winUse the Unicode-aware ICU collation for PostgreSQL search.
The PostgreSQL branch applies
ToUpper()toJobNameunder the"C"collation, whilesearchusesToUpperInvariant(). The"C"collation does not reliably uppercase non-ASCII characters. Therefore, a search forÉCLAIRcan omit a stored job namedéclair, despite the case-insensitive search contract.Replace
"C"with the deterministic ICU collation used for PostgreSQL. KeepToUpper().Contains(search)so Npgsql continues translating the substring query.Suggested fix

🟡 Minor · Use a deterministic ICU collation for PostgreSQL searches. · LinqToDBJobStorage.Query.cs:105-107
src/Immediate.Jobs.LinqToDB/LinqToDBJobStorage.Query.cs:105-107
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winUse a deterministic ICU collation for PostgreSQL searches.
When a nonblank search is supplied, the PostgreSQL branch applies the
"C"collation beforeToUpper().Contains(search). This collation can fail to match non-ASCII case variants, so the Definitions search can omit matching job names.Use
"und-x-icu"instead. It provides deterministic Unicode-aware matching without relying on the nondeterministic mapped column collation.Suggested fix

🟠 Major · Preserve recurring progress when a legacy schedule… · LinqToDBJobStorage.DefinitionCatalog.cs:158
src/Immediate.Jobs.LinqToDB/LinqToDBJobStorage.DefinitionCatalog.cs:158
🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy liftPreserve recurring progress when a legacy schedule differs only in case.
On PostgreSQL,
Recurring.Nameuses a deterministic collation. If an existing code-defined schedule is namedInvoiceand the first catalogue registration names its definitioninvoice, this match misses the schedule. The merge inserts a new schedule and deletes the old one. Startup then loses its pause state andNextRunAt. Match existing code-defined schedule aliases before replacing them, and preserve their progress and stored spelling. (postgresql.org)🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

If another schema contains
immediate_jobs_case_insensitivebut is outside this connection’ssearch_path, this query skips creation. Declare Name collations consistently with invocation and recurring job names. Use CreateTableAsync for the definition table and retain custom SQL only for PostgreSQL collation creation.
Persist and reconcile the complete application job-definition catalogue at startup, together with code-defined recurring schedules. Preserve dynamic schedules, recurring pause/progress, and invocation history.
EF Core and LinqToDB store definition configuration in individual columns in
immediate_job_definition_metadata, replacing the definition JSON blob. The case-insensitive name key is the sole stored definition name. Queue settings, cron/time zone, attempts, concurrency, and policy enums have typed columns;TimeoutTicksandBackoffBaseTickspreserve exact .NET tick precision. Redis retains serialized definition records.Name matching remains case-insensitive: runtime stores use
OrdinalIgnoreCase, SQL Server inherits database collation, PostgreSQL uses a nondeterministic ICU collation, and SQLite usesNOCASE. Canonical spelling is preserved; duplicate case variants and boundary whitespace are rejected. PostgreSQL substring search continues using deterministicund-x-icubefore translatedToUpper().Contains(search).EF Core retains its documented singleton catalogue lock. LinqToDB merges supplied rows directly by name in a serializable transaction; SQL Server deletes omitted rows in the merge, and PostgreSQL 15+ uses a separate set-based delete in the same transaction. Only SQLite calculates reconciliation from a stored snapshot. LinqToDB creates the definition table through its entity mapping; provider-specific Name collation attributes match the invocation and recurring JobName mappings. Bootstrap SQL creates the PostgreSQL collation before the mapped tables. The unused
MergeRecurringSchedulesListAsyncAPI remains removed. The distributed sample's fresh-schema migration and EF model snapshot use the new columns. Consumers own upgrades of existing databases; no conversion or backfill of previously serialized definitions is provided. Custom providers implement catalogue reconciliation and reads. Dashboard/monitoring integration is in #221; tags are in #218.
Merge order: #216 → #218 → #219 → #215 → #221.
