feat(storage): store PCPs in a dedicated vault table - #633
Adds schema v3 with sealed PCP storage in pcp_records and a Rust/UniFFI PcpVault (CredentialStore::pcp_vault) with put/get/list/delete. PCPs stay outside credential export/import/merge; credential restore preserves local PCPs. Requires initialized account storage; account destruction deletes PCPs. Browser JS wrappers and mobile wiring remain separate.
Validation: 142 storage tests, formatting, strict Clippy across all/default/no-default features, and wasm compile/Clippy checks passed locally.
Stacked on #637. v3 only adds a table, so builds without it keep opening the vault.
AI: gpt-6.1-sol implementation; Claude Opus 5.5 API follow-up; Gemini 4 Argon wording and comment pass. Prompt: add sealed PCP storage excluded from credential backups.
Note
Medium Risk
Touches encrypted vault schema migration and backup/restore semantics; incorrect isolation could leak or drop PCP data, though behavior is heavily tested.
Overview
Adds vault schema v3 with a local pcp_records table and a host-facing PcpVault (CredentialStore::pcp_vault) exposing put / get / list / delete for opaque sealed packages keyed by host-chosen id and kind (e.g. orb_pkg). Existing ids cannot change kind; invalid ids/kinds surface new StorageError variants.
PCPs stay outside the credential backup path: they are not in BACKUP_TABLES, so export/import/merge of credential backups does not read or overwrite local PCPs, and PCP writes do not trigger the vault-changed backup listener. destroy_storage is documented to wipe PCPs as well. Operations require initialized storage; v2 vaults migrate to v3 on open.
Docs note Rust/Swift/Kotlin exposure and that the browser JS package does not include PcpVault.

The credential vault now stores sealed Personal Custody Packages (PCPs). The API supports storing, retrieving, listing, and deleting records. Reads verify BLAKE3 checksums. PCP records are excluded from credential backups and do not trigger credential change notifications.

Adds PCP record and metadata types, PCP-specific errors, and the BLAKE3 dependencies. The version 2 migration creates the pcp_records table. Migration tests cover the new schema version and table.
PCP persistence and CredentialStore API crates/walletkit-core/src/storage/credential_vault/pcp.rs, crates/walletkit-core/src/storage/credential_vault/mod.rs, crates/walletkit-core/src/storage/credential_storage.rs, crates/walletkit-core/src/storage/mod.rs
Adds PCP put, get, list, and delete operations. Writes validate IDs and kinds, preserve creation time on updates, and return BLAKE3 checksums. Reads verify checksums, and listing can filter by kind. The storage module exports the PCP types.
Backup and notification behavior crates/walletkit-core/src/storage/credential_storage.rs, crates/walletkit-core/src/storage/traits.rs, crates/walletkit-core/src/storage/credential_vault/pcp.rs, docs/accounts.md, web/walletkit/README.md
Tests and documentation describe PCP exclusion from credential backups, preservation of local PCPs during import and merge, and the absence of PCP-triggered credential change notifications.

Merge Risk: Moderate · previous review 4ba49
A corrupted version-1 vault with missing credential blob storage would be silently upgraded and then appear to have lost its credentials, instead of being rejected. Validate the v1 tables inside the migration transaction before merging.

Adds native encrypted storage for sealed Personal Custody Packages (PCPs), building on the vault migration framework while keeping PCPs separate from credential backups.
Changes:
Adds migration v2 with a dedicated, path-keyed PCP table.
Exposes native CRUD APIs with BLAKE3 verification and kind consistency.
Adds regression coverage and documents separate backup and notification responsibilities.

Text columns are read back up to the first NUL, so such a path could be
stored but not listed or fetched again.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
[P2] Preserve the exact path when returning a PCP. put_pcp stores embedded NULs, but column_text uses CStr::from_ptr (crates/walletkit-sqlite/src/ffi.rs:394–405), so reading "package\0suffix" returns the path "package"; subsequent operations using that identifier can miss the package or target another entry. Return the original lookup path here and add an embedded-NUL round-trip regression test.
[P2] Place metadata before the package blob in the new table. SQLite must traverse the blob's overflow pages to reach columns stored after data, so listing metadata incurs I/O proportional to package sizes while holding the store mutex. Move data after the checksum and timestamps; the queries already name their columns explicitly.

`get_pcp` and `list_pcps` without changing their call sites.

SQLite reaches columns after a large blob only by walking its overflow
pages, so listing PCP metadata read every package. Migration v2 is
unreleased, so the column order can still change.

CredentialStore::pcp_vault returns a handle limited to put/get/list/delete,
matching the host PCP store shape. Also tightens the PR's doc comments and
corrects the vault-changed listener's mutation list.

PcpVault lives in storage/pcp_vault.rs and reaches the vault through a
narrow CredentialStore::with_vault helper. Internal PCP queries move from
CredentialVault methods to a borrowed PcpTable (vault.pcps().put(...)).

🔵 Needs a closer look
A critical compatibility issue leaves credentials and PCPs inaccessible after a v3 → preceding v2 → v3 upgrade cycle, requiring transactional metadata normalization and a regression test.
