Commit ids change on every rebase; the immutable evidence is the release tag and the artifact digest, which stay.

The validation record cited exact commit ids from before the stack was reworked — they pointed at commits that no longer exist, which is worse than citing nothing. The durable evidence (release tag link, artifact SHA-256) stays; the rotting ids go.
