Important

Hold until posthog-android 4.0 is released. Depends on PostHog/posthog-android#871 (integration PR), including its child PostHog/posthog-android#881 (capture v1), which is still open. PostHog/posthog-android#908 (wireframe removal) is merged into it. This page links /docs/libraries/capture-v1, which #21386 adds, so that merges first. Replay docs stay in #21741 and PostHog/posthog#125537.

Changes

Docs for upgrading posthog-android from 3.x to 4.0, plus the pages 4.0 makes wrong.

libraries/android/index.mdx: new "Upgrading from version 3 to version 4" section, following the Flutter 6 guide in docs(flutter): version 6 upgrade guide #20924: requirements, removed APIs, feature flag callbacks, and behavior changes that don't fail the build. It links the SDK migration guide for full detail, the same file docs(libraries): add the capture v1 SDK upgrade guide #21386 links. Capture v1 and replay get a short summary and a link, so docs(libraries): add the capture v1 SDK upgrade guide #21386 and docs(replay): screenshot-only mobile replay for Android and iOS 4.0 #21741 stay the source. The removed APIs table lists PostHogConfig.onFeatureFlags and the defaultValue argument of getFeatureFlag(), and a behavior change covers getFeatureFlag("flag-key", true), which still compiles but now sets sendFeatureFlagEvent. Also renames maxRetries in the options sample and table, drops the onFeatureFlags config row, and updates the evaluationContexts row.
- The upgrade section also covers: wrapper SDKs (React Native, Flutter, KMP) upgrading through their own package; internal helpers no longer being public; an event options and captureAi example; and behavior bullets for $locale and $app_language, Jetpack Compose now being recorded, Compose masking, super properties winning over SDK values, and dropped or replaced values (empty event names, $-prefixed deep link parameters, a uuid set in beforeSend). The replay bullet links /docs/session-replay/privacy.
- Config table: adds compression, notes the ~5 MiB per-request cap on maxBatchSize, and drops the removed drawable conversion from sessionReplayConfig. The captureAi* rows and the AI events section are in docs: document captureAi for iOS, Android and Flutter #21963, so they're not repeated here.
feature-flags-code-android.mdx: PostHog.onFeatureFlags() before setup() instead of the removed config option, with a note for 3.x readers. feature-flags/adding-feature-flag-code.mdx imports this snippet too, which is why this PR waits for 4.0.
install-android.mdx and the android-* tutorials: posthog-android:4.+.
Every PostHogAndroidConfig(apiKey = …): now projectToken, which is a compile error otherwise. Only Android snippets are changed on multi-language pages.
tutorials/android-session-replay.md: drops sessionReplayConfig.screenshot = true, removed in 4.0.
evaluation-contexts.mdx: notes that the legacy evaluationEnvironments option was removed in 4.0.0, for both Android and iOS. The iOS row is here rather than in docs(ios): add the 3.x to 4.0 upgrade guide #21807 because the two rows are adjacent and would conflict, so the PRs merge cleanly in either order.
product-analytics/installation/android.eval.yaml: the install rubric requires projectToken instead of apiKey.

Not changed:

posthog-server: its API is unchanged, so no server page needs an update.
session-replay/_snippets/android-installation.mdx: still has apiKey, but nothing imports it.
libraries/kmp/index.mdx: lists debouncerDelayMs as a posthog-kmp option; that's KMP's own API.

Monorepo onboarding: PostHog/posthog#129665 moves the Android onboarding and push setup snippets to projectToken and posthog-android:4.+. PostHog/posthog#125537 covers the replay onboarding's screenshot text.
