configs name them as ${mecka_private:,} and the values live in
$EGOVERSE_MECKA_PRIVATE_DIR/splits/.json next to the zarrs; the
generators write both halves through private_ids.write_config. Every train
config resolves to the same data as before the split.

Tests skip mecka_private_* configs when EGOVERSE_MECKA_PRIVATE_DIR is unset.
