What's Changed

Features

  • New dark interface. The device picker shows each drive's path, model, connection and size. The disk your system runs from is listed but can't be picked.
  • Formatting now asks you to confirm first, naming the drive and its size. Esc cancels.
  • Progress and results are clearer: a status label and spinner while formatting, then a success or failure banner, plus a Copy button for the output.
  • The volume label is limited to 11 characters and saved in uppercase, with a counter.

What's Changed

Features

  • sdFormatLinux v0.2.0 is now bundled in the .deb and .rpm, installed privately at /usr/libexec/sdformatlinux-gui/sdFormatLinux. You no longer need to install it separately. Its MIT licence ships with the package.
  • The app checks GitHub for a newer release at most once a day and shows a link when one is out. Set SDFORMAT_GUI_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1 to turn this off.
