The hole
release-src.yml's per-line compile smoke gates cover linux-gnu, linux-musl, and msys only — no darwin leg. A patch that breaks compilation on macOS alone would pass the gate and ship in the src release; the break would surface much later, in tebako-runtime-ruby's catalog CI (or a user build).
Why it matters
The patch set carries darwin-specific hunks (config_status_mainlibs_darwin.patch, configure_extstatic_bundle_loader_darwin.patch, the darwin scrub paths in the spawn patch) that no gated leg compiles. The 3.3 line's tip smoke on darwin would have caught a struct tebako_stat-class header break at the source release instead of at the runtime factory.
Proposed
Add a darwin scenario to tools/smoke_matrix's per-line emit (macos-latest arm64 runner), gated the same way: smoke first, builds only on green.
