| Platform | Architecture | File suffix |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | x64 | windows-x64.zip |
| Android | ARM64, most modern phones | android-arm64.apk |
| Android | ARMv7, older 32-bit devices | android-armv7.apk |
| Android | x86-64, compatible emulators/devices | android-x64.apk |
Windows: extract the entire ZIP, then run prayer_desktop.exe. Keep its DLLs and data folder together. These builds are unsigned.
Android: download the APK and install it on Android 8.0 or newer, allowing installation from your download source when prompted. Current builds use a local debug signing certificate and are preview builds. A stable private release keystore must be configured before a durable public update channel is established. Builds from other machines may have incompatible signatures.
Allow notifications and exact alarms when prompted. On newer Android versions, full-screen alarm access is managed in system settings. Battery restrictions may affect delivery on some devices.
The SHA256SUMS.txt release attachment lets you verify each downloaded file with Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256.
Use Flutter with Dart 3.13.2 or newer compatible with the SDK constraint, Android SDK/JDK 17 for Android, and Visual Studio's Desktop development with C++ workload for Windows builds. The initial archives were built with Flutter 3.47.2 / Dart 3.13.2 on Windows.
cd prayer-desktop
flutter pub get
Copy-Item .env.example .env
# Optional: configure Google OAuth client IDs in .env.
dart run build_runner build
flutter run -d windows
# Or select a connected Android device:
flutter devices
flutter run -d <device-id>Blank OAuth IDs allow local use without Google sync. See Google sync setup to configure your own clients. OAuth client IDs are public identifiers embedded in builds; OAuth secrets, tokens, and private signing keys must remain local.
From the repository root in PowerShell:
./build_releases.ps1The script builds a Windows x64 ZIP and direct Android ARM64, ARMv7, and x86-64 APK downloads. It reads the version from prayer-desktop/pubspec.yaml and writes ignored artifacts under releases/v<version>/, for example prayer-manager-v1.0.0-build.1-windows-x64.zip, plus SHA-256 checksums. Upload these artifacts to GitHub Releases; do not commit binaries. Configure your Android release signing before production distribution; the current Gradle configuration uses debug signing.

Prayer schedules reuse a Djelfa reference year with city offsets. See the schedule package documentation for data coverage and assumptions; changes to official schedules may require data updates.
Issues and pull requests are welcome. Describe the platform, app version, and steps to reproduce. Keep mobile and desktop layouts separate, follow the local architecture guides, and include Arabic, English, and French translations for UI changes. Run the relevant checks before submitting.
Do not include .env, OAuth credential downloads, account data, keystores, or private keys in contributions. The repository ignores these files and generated local configuration.
