Keep the JMLR 2013 version and fix its page range.
Keep the published Journal of Computational Physics version.
Its only entry duplicated OHagan1987 in papers.bib.
It pointed to the Wenger et al. paper (2205.15449).
The bib layout only renders the pdf field. Entries whose file field points to PDFs missing from the site are left unchanged for now.
Use one name per conference (full name plus acronym, without "Proceedings of", edition numbers or years), spell out journal names, and write all arXiv preprints as "arXiv preprint arXiv:<id>". Drop volume/issue fields that only repeated the arXiv id or category.
The bib layout only shows the venue for article and inproceedings entries, so these NeurIPS and AISTATS papers showed none.
Point venue, volume, pages, year and link to the published version, keep the arXiv id in an arxiv field (shown as a separate arXiv button), and use the published title where it changed. Also update the title of the still-unpublished meshless methods preprint to its current arXiv title.
Apply the existing end-of-file-fixer and trailing-whitespace pre-commit hooks to all files, so that pre-commit (and pre-commit.ci) passes on the whole repository. No content changes.
Drop the italics from journal and conference venues so all venue lines look alike, and use a slightly darker grey (#666) for authors and venues for better contrast.

This PR cleans up the BibTeX files behind the research page and adds a formatter so they stay consistent, and also add some minor visual changes to the research page. While the full diff is large, the individual commits are quite atomic and I carefully checked each of them while working on this PR.
Bibtex-related changes, each in an individual commit:
_bibliography/.corrected page range.
sampling.bib, whose only entry duplicated O'Hagan (1987) inpapers.bib.filetopdfso PDF links show up on the site.format.
incollection/proceedingstoinproceedingsso their venues areshown.
a separate link.
incollection).Applying pre-commit also triggered a pre-commit hook that was already present in the repo which fixed trailing whitespace and final newlines across the repository.
In addition, I also slightly changed the research page so that venues are shown in plain text and author and venue names are slightly darker, and I renamed the "Related" research topic to "Other" (matching the original category before my update in #16).
