A partial clone of the popular social platform Instagram using Django.
On your terminal, clone the project.
$ git clone [email protected]:peterken674/instagram-clone.git
Navigate into the cloned project.
$ cd instagram-clone
Create a .env file.
$ touch .env
Inside .env, add the following and fill the empty fields with the appropriate values:
SECRET_KEY=
DEBUG=True
DB_NAME=
DB_USER=
DB_PASSWORD=
DB_HOST='127.0.0.1'
MODE='dev'
ALLOWED_HOSTS='.localhost','127.0.0.1'
DISABLE_COLLECTSTATIC=1
CLOUD_NAME=
API_KEY=
API_SECRET=The CLOUD_NAME, API_KEY, and the API_SECRET are from your account on Cloudinary.
Create the virtual environment and install the requirements from requirements.txt
$ python3 -m venv env
$ . env/bin/activate
$ pip install -r requirements.txt
Perform a migration.
$ python3 manage.py migrate
Start the server to run locally.
$ python3 manage.py runserver
No known bugs.
