Summary

  • Add a tip under step 1 of the Docker page that starts the container with a named volume (-v pg-data:/data/db), so the data persists after the container is removed.
  • Provide the image's data directory (/data/db) so that the reader does not need to inspect the image to find the path to mount.

Verification

  • Built the site locally with mkdocs build.
  • Ran the command as written with percona/percona-distribution-postgresql:18.6 on arm64: created a table, removed the container, started a new one with the same -v option, and the data was still there.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Show -v pg-data:/data/db so the data survives removing the container.
/data/db is the image's data directory and the page does not state it.

Hi @Andriciuc,

Could you take a look when you have a moment?

#1061 is a companion tip on the same page.

Thanks!
