Systems programmer — C/C++ · Win32 · Go. Writing software since 1989, professionally since 1996. Remote for worldwide clients since 2000.
For twenty years I was "the C programmer" for the Xbase++ community: when application developers hit the wall of a closed runtime, I made it talk to the rest of the system — FFI, callbacks, runtime code generation, driver injection, printing, serial I/O, IPC. My work ships inside four commercial third-party libraries and has run for years in banks, hospitals, clinics, courts, thousands of schools and a metro ticketing system.
Since early 2025, Go is my primary language for everything new.
- ot4xb (2004-present) — C/C++ FFI, callback and Win32 interop library for Xbase++. Free with accessible source since day one; includes a one-pass runtime x86 assembler, in production for two decades.
- mysql4xb — libmysql C-API wrapper used to migrate an entire company system from DBF to MySQL.
- Lost-source recovery, binary patching, protocol bridges — the kind of work that starts with "this can't be done".

Everything I build ships with AGENTS.md and SKILL.md — agent-ready docs generated from one source by mkskill, a tool I wrote for that purpose. I build tooling for AI agents, not just with them.
I know the ship from inside. Whether you need to keep it sailing or to build a new replacement — I can help with both.
