Feat/logout request session index - #1125
Conversation
A LogoutRequest that names only the user makes the IdP end every session it holds for them. createLogoutRequest now takes an optional sessionIndex (a string or a list), written as samlp:SessionIndex after the NameID, so a service provider can end just the session it signed in with. Empty values are left out, and output without one is unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01Psjo2JHTU4HWRxs4nsLwEx
createLogoutRequest always sent its NameID with the `unspecified` format and no qualifiers, which an IdP that matches the NameID it issued exactly can reject. It now takes optional nameIdFormat, nameQualifier and spNameQualifier; unset, the output is unchanged. So that a service provider can echo them, the validated profile gains `nameId`: the assertion's Subject NameID value, untrimmed, with its Format, NameQualifier and SPNameQualifier when present (AssertedNameID, exported as a type). Preserve all session indexes when parsing logout requests.
If a caller supplies multiple indexes, createLogoutRequest emits each one. parseLogoutRequest reads only the first through textOf(LogoutRequest.SessionIndex). A receiver that uses the public parser cannot identify the other sessions to end. Extend the parsed request contract to retain all indexes while preserving the existing single-index field if callers need it. Add a multi-index round-trip assertion in test/lib/logout.spec.ts.
