What Problem This Solves

Analytics tests can pass after failed database reads when an unread count or coverage flag retains its zero value.

User Impact

No user-visible change. The affected tests now fail on database read errors.

Why This Change Was Made

Check nine existing assertion reads in partial-response, owner-exclusion and cancellation tests. Keep SQL, expected values, local HTTP/SQLite fixtures, history preservation and retry timing unchanged. Block-local errors preserve the expected provider failures.

Evidence

  • Sixteen race-enabled overlay runs: healthy baseline and fixed tests each pass 12 cases; four broken-read cases pass incorrectly before the fix and fail afterward; three failure controls fail on both versions.
  • Module tidiness, formatting, vet, vulnerability scan, deadcode and diff checks pass.
  • Independent P0–P3 review passes.
  • Full platform CI must pass on the PR head before squash merge.
