⚠️ Artifact update problem

Renovate failed to update an artifact related to this branch. You probably do not want to merge this PR as-is.

♻ Renovate will retry this branch, including artifacts, only when one of the following happens:

  • any of the package files in this branch needs updating, or
  • the branch becomes conflicted, or
  • you click the rebase/retry checkbox if found above, or
  • you rename this PR's title to start with "rebase!" to trigger it manually

         And because qwenpaw>=2.2.2 depends on reme-ai==0.4.1.11 and opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-qwenpaw[instruments] depends on qwenpaw{python_full_version < '3.14'}>=2.2.2, we can conclude that opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-qwenpaw[instruments] and opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-crewai[instruments] are incompatible.
         And because your workspace requires opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-crewai[instruments] and opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-qwenpaw[instruments], we can conclude that your workspace's requirements are unsatisfiable.

hint: While the active Python version is 3.15, the resolution failed for other Python versions supported by your project. Consider limiting your project's supported Python versions using `requires-python`.

QwenPaw 2.x removes the entry point the unchanged instrumentor wraps, so the dependency upgrade needs compatible instrumentation first.

1 open issue
What changed in this PR

This PR moves the QwenPaw instrumentation package’s dependency declarations and examples from QwenPaw 1.x to 2.x without changing the instrumentation implementation.

Changes:

  • Changes the optional instrumented-library range to >=2.2.2,<2.3.0.
  • Pins latest-version tests to 2.2.2.post1.
  • Updates both examples to require QwenPaw 2.2.2 post-releases.
File Description
instrumentation/opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-qwenpaw/tests/requirements.latest.txt Updates the latest-test dependency to v2.
instrumentation/opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-qwenpaw/pyproject.toml Changes the optional dependency range to v2.
instrumentation/opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-qwenpaw/examples/zero-code/requirements.txt Updates the auto-instrumentation example dependency.
instrumentation/opentelemetry-instrumentation-genai-qwenpaw/examples/manual/requirements.txt Updates the manual instrumentation example dependency.

Review effort: Balanced

# qwenpaw itself requires Python <3.14, so the marker keeps the extra
# installable (as a no-op) on newer interpreters used for tooling.
instruments = ["qwenpaw >= 1.1.0, < 2.0.0; python_version < '3.14'"]
instruments = ["qwenpaw >=2.2.2, <2.3.0; python_version < '3.14'"]

@123liuziming - Renovate is trying to move QwenPaw to 2.x, but the instrumentation doesn't support it yet:

  • 2.x removed qwenpaw.app.runner / AgentRunner.query_handler, which is what the wrapper hooks into (conformance fails with ModuleNotFoundError).
  • The Msg schema changed (test_output_message_from_yield_item fails with a pydantic validation error).
  • The qwenpaw 2.x pins don't resolve together with crewai's pydantic/mcp ranges in uv.lock.

Would you be up for adding 2.x support in a separate PR? Until then we'll keep the instruments extra on 1.x and close this one.
