Hello, I'm Jay / Nath / Nate! (corny introduction)

I'm a high-school developer interested in low-level programming, programming languages, and systems -- preferably with as little suffering as possible...

I REALLY like building small things, experimenting with weird ideas, and occasionally creating problems for myself that then I have to solve..

Current Status

public class Me
{
    public bool IsBuilding { get; } = true;
    public bool _willProcrastinate => Random.Shared.Next(0, 2) == 0;
}

Languages I use:

Rust · C# · C++ · Java · Python · TypeScript/JavaScript · C

Active Projects

fn main() {
    println!("Building weird little things.");
}
  • Spark — A VERY TINY higher-level programming language written in Rust, targeting ARC and Prism.
  • TASM — A VERY TINY ARM64-inspired assembly language written in Rust, targeting ARC and Prism.
  • ARC — A VERY TINY stack-based bytecode virtual machine written in Rust, designed as a reusable runtime for different frontends.
  • Prism — A VERY TINY friendly abstraction layer for LLVM written in Rust, designed as a reusable tool for different frontends.
  • Various experiments — Includes small programs, language experiments, and things I probably didn't need to build.

Currently Learning

#include <print>

int main() {
    std::println("APIs & Networking");
    std::println("More Rust");
    std::println("Systems Programming");
}
  • APIs & networking
  • More Rust
  • Systems programming
  • How to make increasingly questionable programming decisions

Maximize adaptability; minimize friction!

Fun Fact

Emojis are NOT an AI watermark. Sometimes, people just enjoy using emojis. I guess I needed to say this because emojis are not concrete evidence for AI-generated work... PLEASE. Okay!

  2. prism prism Public

    a Rust-based LLVM toolchain for turning .ll files into native executables because apparently making an interpreter was too tuff (BUT SLOW?? UNLESS JIT/AOT) aaand more suffering indeed in the process

    Rust 1

  3. tasm tasm Public

    a tiny assembly-like programming language written in Rust because, uhm, apparently my abnormal program needed.. another abnornmal program??? (referring to arc . . .)

    Rust 1

  4. arc arc Public

    a small stack-based bytecode virtual machine written in Rust because supposedly writing normal programs was not enough (my brain does not agree)

    Rust 1

  5. jay-i jay-i Public

    a tiny Rust-based terminal AI chatbot because apparently talking to a terminal is more fun when it talks back... and has opinions about donuts.. apparently.... (based on personal experiences.. DURI…

  6. jstringtypes jstringtypes Public

    a tiny C string library because apparently managing memory manually sounded like a good idea!
