Summary

With registerType: "prompt", a new service worker stays waiting until every Codey tab closes. Anyone who missed or dismissed the Reload toast kept seeing the old site after a deploy.

The waiting version is now applied automatically whenever that cannot interrupt a run:

  • within 15s of a page load,
  • when the tab is hidden,
  • after 20s without typing.

Tabs coming back into view also check for a new version. The toast stays for reloading sooner.

Test plan

  • With vite preview:
    • build v1, load the page, then rebuild with a marker string;
    • one page reload shows the new version with no click.
  • vitest (188 tests) and tsc -b pass.

A waiting service worker stayed parked until every Codey tab closed, so
anyone who missed the Reload toast kept seeing the old site. It now applies
right after a page load, when the tab is hidden, or after 20 seconds without
typing; tabs coming back into view also check for a new version.
