Closes #58.

PyBaMM will soon drop Python 3.10, so PyTES drops it in its next release rather than wait for the PyBaMM release that does.

Changes

  • pyproject.toml: requires-python = ">=3.11,<3.16"; 3.10 classifier removed.
  • uv.lock regenerated: only the 3.10 resolution forks are removed (e.g. exceptiongroup, older NumPy/SciPy/Sphinx); no other package version changes.
  • CI: 3.10 removed from the Linux matrix; macOS and Windows run 3.11 and 3.15 (oldest and newest).
  • README: supported range is 3.11 to 3.15.
  • DESIGN.md: the Python-support decision now says a version PyBaMM is about to drop may be dropped first. Please review this wording.
  • changelog.d/59.breaking.md.

ruff check (with the UP rules now targeting 3.11) needs no code changes, and there are no sys.version_info branches to remove.

Testing

  • 780 tests pass on Python 3.11 and 3.14 locally.
  • pre-commit could not run locally (its hook repositories could not be fetched); CI runs it.

PyBaMM will soon drop Python 3.10, so PyTES drops it in its next release.
Require Python 3.11, remove the 3.10 classifier and lockfile forks, run
macOS and Windows CI on 3.11 as the oldest version, and record the
decision in DESIGN.md.
