Prepares release 0.1.0a4, following CONTRIBUTING.md ("Releasing"):

• Version: 0.1.0a4 in pyproject.toml and CITATION.cff, released 2026-11-02, with uv.lock updated to match.
• Changelog: CHANGELOG.md built with towncrier from the seven fragments on main, which are removed.

What's in it (full notes in CHANGELOG.md):

• Breaking:
  • packed-bed results change after the fix to the storage-boundary heat flux (F-056, Make the storage take exactly the flux law's heat at its wall (F-056) #51);
  • pytes.experiments.step_description is removed: solution.cycles[i].steps[j] now always matches experiment.cycles[i][j] (Match experiment step solutions to steps by position #54).
• New: the opt-in plot colours (Register the PyTES plot colours with matplotlib #44), the model documentation pages (Add documentation pages on the models #48) and the Parameter values page (Document the parameter values in the docs #50).
• Improved: six getting started tutorials (Add a series of getting started tutorials #47).
• Fixed: the heat entering a storage through its wall is exactly the surface flux law's flux (Make the storage take exactly the flux law's heat at its wall (F-056) #51).

Not included: the "averaged with local flux" option (F-058) is still in progress on its own branch.

Why 0.1.0a4: the alpha series continues. Breaking changes are expected between 0.1.0 alphas, and the deprecated aliases stay until 0.2.0, as promised.

After merging (for the maintainer): create the GitHub release v0.1.0a4, marked as a pre-release, with the new changelog section as its notes. That runs release.yml, which builds the package, publishes it to PyPI and mints the Zenodo DOI.

Checklist

• The tests pass (uv run pytest): 780 passed.
• no changelog: the release consumes the fragments.
