Emergent: build neural models and explore how they learn. The original C++ neural simulation environment, modernized by Brian Mingus. Neural modeling, native 3D views, interactive tasks, visual programming and C Super Script. C++17, Clang 24 nightly and Qt 6.12 Beta 4. Linux 8.6.1 preview available; Emergent 9.0 is in development. Requires Ubuntu 26.04 x86_64 or a compatible newer glibc environment. No compiler or separate Qt installation required. Download, extract and launch ./run-inductor-head from the runtime folder, or ./emergent for the general application. Open the linked guide for downloads, setup, GPU options, models and documentation. A modernization of emer/cemer; original authorship and licenses preserved. GPL-2.0.
