refactor: replace lodash helpers that have a native equivalent (AI-assisted) - #12832
Results keep lodash's order, with minor differences that only show in error and warning messages:
The Set methods dedupe their results: a missing doc ID that a sidebar references twice is now listed once.
Set.prototype.intersection() iterates the smaller set, so conflicting route prop names may be listed in route.modules order.
Map.groupBy() keeps insertion order for integer-like keys, which only changes which duplicate plugin ID or redirect is reported first.
I kept lodash where the native version isn't clearer: the boolean _.groupBy() in client redirects, and _.groupBy() + _.mapValues() for sidebar category metadata. lodash stays a dependency of every package: helpers like mapValues, partition or memoize have no simple native equivalent.
Test Plan
Existing unit tests cover these code paths.
pnpm test, pnpm typecheck:tests and pnpm lint pass locally on Node 26.13.0.
Updated internal handling of redirects, documentation navigation, translations, tags, themes, components, and plugin identifiers. Existing duplicate detection, validation behavior, ordering, and warnings are preserved.
Bug Fixes
Duplicate unknown version names are now listed only once in validation results. Duplicate document IDs are also omitted from the available-document list shown in validation errors.
No other changes to the end-user experience are expected.
The pull request replaces Lodash collection and array helpers with native JavaScript APIs across redirect, documentation, utility, swizzle, and server code. The affected checks retain their described grouping, filtering, deduplication, and error-reporting behavior.
Changes: Native helper replacements
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Redirect and tag grouping packages/docusaurus-plugin-client-redirects/src/collectRedirects.ts, packages/docusaurus-utils/src/tags.ts
Redirect grouping now uses Map.groupBy. Tag groups now deduplicate items with Set.
Documentation ID and translation checks packages/docusaurus-plugin-content-docs/src/sidebars/*, packages/docusaurus-plugin-content-docs/src/versions/validation.ts, packages/docusaurus-plugin-content-docs/src/translations.ts
getLocalDocId now uses .at(-1). Sidebar and version checks use native set operations. Sidebar error output remains sorted and deduplicated. Translation duplicate detection now uses Map.groupBy.
Swizzle code uses .at(-1) for final segments and Set for deduplication and set difference. Theme-name ordering and filtering remain unchanged.
Server plugin and translation checks packages/docusaurus/src/server/plugins/pluginIds.ts, packages/docusaurus/src/server/codegen/codegenRoutes.ts, packages/docusaurus/src/server/translations/translations.ts
Plugin ID grouping now uses Map.groupBy. Prop-conflict and translation-key checks use native set operations; existing error and warning behavior remains unchanged.
The change can alter the ordering of names in conflict errors, but no broader runtime or data-impacting regression is established.

Explanation
The title names the change accurately. The PR replaces lodash helpers (_.last, _.uniq, _.groupBy, _.difference, _.intersection) with native JavaScript equivalents (Array.prototype.at, Set, Map.groupBy, Array.prototype.filter), as the raw summary and PR objectives describe. The title is specific and concise, and it has a conventional refactor: prefix. The phrase '(AI-assisted)' is extra detail but does not make the title misleading.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
Docstring coverage is 12.50% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 8 functions across 12 files.
Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Lodash 4.17.21 difference.js baseDifference.js behavior when the first argument is true or another non-array truthy value
Reject non-array onlyIncludeVersions before calling .filter.
A supported inline plugin configuration can pass {onlyIncludeVersions: true} without the docs Joi validator. readVersionsMetadata then reaches validateVersionsOptions, where the new call evaluates true.filter(...) and throws a TypeError. Lodash 4.18.1 returned an empty array for this immediate _.difference call instead. Reject the invalid value explicitly while preserving valid string-array handling.

Update validateVersionsOptions to validate that a supplied onlyIncludeVersions
value is an array before calling .filter; reject non-array values while
preserving the existing handling of valid string arrays.

Motivation
Replace the lodash helpers that have a native equivalent at the same level of abstraction. These were already available before Node.js 26:
_.last()→Array.prototype.at(-1)_.uniq()→new Set()_.groupBy()→Map.groupBy(), where we iterate the groups.Object.groupBy()types its values as possiblyundefined._.difference()/_.intersection()→Set.prototype.difference()/Set.prototype.intersection()(ES2025)Results keep lodash's order, with minor differences that only show in error and warning messages:
Setmethods dedupe their results: a missing doc ID that a sidebar references twice is now listed once.Set.prototype.intersection()iterates the smaller set, so conflicting route prop names may be listed inroute.modulesorder.Map.groupBy()keeps insertion order for integer-like keys, which only changes which duplicate plugin ID or redirect is reported first.I kept lodash where the native version isn't clearer: the boolean
_.groupBy()in client redirects, and_.groupBy()+_.mapValues()for sidebar category metadata. lodash stays a dependency of every package: helpers likemapValues, partitionormemoizehave no simple native equivalent.Test Plan
