levonium.aliases

Search, create and manage addy.io email aliases from the Omarchy shell bar. Click the bar icon to open a popup where you can look up an alias, toggle it on or off, copy it, delete it, or create a new one.

Features

  • Search your aliases (the 10 newest matches are shown, newest first).
  • Toggle an alias active/inactive, copy it to the clipboard, or delete it (with a confirmation).
  • Create aliases: pick one of your addy.io domains, a format (words, UUID, random characters or a custom local part) and an optional description.
  • Uses your Omarchy theme and fits in with the built-in bar panels.

Your domains and aliases are fetched from addy.io when the panel opens; nothing about your account is stored in this plugin.

Requirements

  • Omarchy with the Quickshell-based shell (omarchy-shell).
  • An addy.io account and an API key (create one in your addy.io account settings under API).
  • curl and wl-copy (from wl-clipboard) for API calls and copying.

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/levonium/omarchy-aliases.git --enable

Then add your API key. The key is read from a plain-text file inside the plugin folder and is never committed to git (secret.conf is in .gitignore):

cd ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/levonium.aliases
cp secret.conf.example secret.conf
chmod 600 secret.conf
$EDITOR secret.conf # replace the placeholder with your API key

Reopen the panel and it will pick the key up. If the icon doesn't appear, run omarchy restart shell. Update later with omarchy plugin update levonium.aliases.

To install by hand, copy the folder to ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/levonium.aliases/ (the folder name must match the id in manifest.json), then run omarchy-shell shell rescanPlugins and omarchy plugin enable levonium.aliases.

Usage

Key Action
/ Focus the search box
n Go to the "New" tab
Esc Close the delete confirmation, then the panel

You can also toggle the panel from a keybinding or script:

omarchy-shell levonium.aliases toggle # also: open, close

For example, in ~/.config/hypr/bindings.lua:

o.bind("SUPER + CTRL + ALT + L", "Toggle aliases", "omarchy-shell levonium.aliases toggle")

Files

File Purpose
manifest.json Plugin registration (bar widget)
Panel.qml The bar icon and popup UI
Model.js Parsing and formatting of addy.io API responses
secret.conf Your API key (local only, git-ignored)
secret.conf.example Template for secret.conf

Troubleshooting

  • "Add your addy.io API key…" message: secret.conf is missing or empty.
  • "Couldn't load aliases": the request failed. Check the key, your network, and that the key hasn't been revoked.
  • Changes not showing after editing the plugin: omarchy restart shell.
  • Check for QML errors: quickshell log -n -p /usr/share/omarchy/shell | grep -i aliases
