WalkthroughThe JavaScript package defers selected Node telemetry and browser-launch imports. It adds startup checks and benchmarks for CommonJS and ES module builds. It also adds opt-in granular message events, streamed agent progress, snapshot repair, event-based chat-log reconstruction, and examples-suite diagnostics. ChangesJavaScript startup behavior

One problem for bundling consumers before this lands.
It only fires on the full-setup path (no global provider registered yet), but that is the default path. Suggested fix: keep |

await import(entry), and assert thatopenwas not loaded. Keep the existing CommonJS assertion.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Stacks #1015 on #1014. The one conflict was the import block in scenario-execution.ts: keep #1014's lighter langwatch/observability import and #1015's message event publisher. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <[email protected]>

require.cache only records CommonJS loads, so an eager import in index.mjs slipped through. Record files opened by the module loader as well. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <[email protected]>

the fixture performs tracking on supported Node 20 versions; use a
Node-20-compatible loader hook, or fail explicitly when tracking cannot be
established, rather than silently leaving imported empty.

…der key llm_boolean runs on the LangWatch project's own model provider key. When that key is rejected it reports an error that says nothing about the SDK; the example now warns in that case and fails on any other error, with the evaluator's details in the message (#1010). The example failed on every run because the evaluator's default model
refuses max_tokens ("use max_completion_tokens instead"). Drop the
provider-error allowance from the previous commit; the cause is now known
and the check is strict again, with the evaluator's details in the
message (#1010).

Human Review BriefCaution This changes what the scenario package loads at import time, for every user of the npm package. Importing scenario used to pull in the whole LangWatch client and the Node telemetry SDK before anything ran. Now tracing setup and the browser launcher load only when used. Median CJS import time drops from 1,286 ms to 683 ms. The risk with lazy loading is order: something that ran at import now runs later. The author kept

Why
Importing Scenario during LangWatch startup loaded the full LangWatch client/CLI and the Node telemetry SDK before any scenario ran. This continues the lazy-loading work in #933 and #945 while keeping the existing text, voice, red-team, evaluator, and tracing APIs.
What changed

Run

These measurements cover package import, not total LangWatch application boot, and timings depend on filesystem caches and shared-machine load. Telemetry initialization work moves to its existing setup/run boundary. Dependencies stay installed so voice and automatic tracing continue to work; this does not claim a smaller installation or published bundle.
