A Java Swing sketchpad for prototyping isometric triangular-grid structures, with live structural and thermal readouts as you draw.
Built for an MIT-originated design project given at Tesla STEM High School. You place "delta" triangles — red or blue, pointing up or down — on an isometric grid, drop up to two anchor points, and the app continuously recomputes and overlays the structure's properties: its center of gravity, the reaction load carried by each anchor, its composition, and (in thermal mode) an average temperature driven by the radiating elements.
- Isometric grid editor — click to add or remove triangular elements, with orthogonal↔isometric coordinate mapping and a translucent preview of the element under the cursor.
- Four element types — red/blue × up/down, chosen from the controls panel; right-click flips orientation, double-click sets an element's radiating length.
- Structural analysis — live center of gravity plus per-anchor support reaction loads, computed from the center of gravity and each anchor's distance (a two-support moment balance).
- Thermal analysis — toggle to an average-temperature readout derived from the counts of red and radiating elements and their mean radiating length.
- Composition metric — a running "percent blue" over all placed elements.
- Unit-tested center-of-gravity calculation (JUnit 4).
