An independent, one-person app studio building practical, privacy-conscious, cross-platform apps for everyday life.
Kyra Labs is a solo indie studio — one person, designing and building the whole thing end to end. The goal is simple: ship small, well-designed, cross-platform apps (web, Android, iOS, Linux, and Windows) that solve everyday problems without any unnecessary bloat.
Most of what we build here is open source. A few things may eventually be paid, but the default is to build in the open.
A few principles that shape how we build:
- 🔐 Privacy by default — no Kyra Labs–operated backend for user data. Where possible, your data stays yours (e.g. synced through your own Google Drive, not our servers).
- 💸 Cost-conscious, always — free tiers first; paid tools only when there's no reasonable free alternative.
- 🧩 Small and maintainable — one person can only keep so much running. Every stack choice optimizes for that.
- 🌍 Cross-platform, not platform-exclusive — apps should work wherever you actually are: web, Android, iOS, Linux, or Windows.

Budgets and categories, spending insights, recurring bill reminders, and on-device AI for auto-categorization, receipt scanning, and spending summaries. Your data stays yours — no Kyra Labs backend involved.

Spenzia specifically runs on React Native + Expo, TypeScript, Zustand, expo-sqlite, React Hook Form, and FlashList — built and shipped with EAS.
