Summary
Open the current Codex task directly in the native trajectory panel through an app-only MCP tool, with a task selector when host metadata cannot identify it safely. This v1.0.0 update replaces the CDP/browser transport with a native MCP Apps bridge and preserves preloaded and delayed result delivery, long-title controls, and readable English/Chinese layouts.
Large JSONL and zstd trajectories use indexed, paginated summaries with bounded, on-demand full-detail loading. Timing, token, cost, and command summaries are more accurate; the public v1/v2 schemas remain compatible. Background cache initialization finishes before process teardown, and temporary SQLite indexes close before directory cleanup, including Windows file-lock handling. Obsolete CDP, loopback HTTP, and task-stop surfaces are removed. Documentation, release metadata, synthetic screenshots, and the reproducible Windows launcher are updated together.
Privacy impact
The viewer starts with safe summaries. Full tool input/output and raw details require explicit consent; only the boolean preference is persisted. Exact task identity validation prevents ambiguous automatic binding. Temporary indexes contain safe summaries, full-detail pages are bounded, and base instructions, encrypted reasoning, credentials, and real local logs are excluded from release artifacts.
Validation
uv run ruff format --check .anduv run ruff check .uv run mypyand Windows-platform type checkingGitHub CI additionally validates Linux, macOS, and Windows across Python 3.10, 3.12, 3.13, and 3.14, including Windows browser-panel tests. A real Codex desktop panel click-through is not covered by the browser harness.
