NEUROSYM template ships report-format = "logtalk", removed from Hypatia on 2026-04-14 #641

What is wrong

The fleet's NEUROSYM.a2ml template still ships

version = "0.1.0"
last-updated = "2026-04-11"
report-format = "logtalk"

logtalk was removed as a Hypatia report format on 2026-04-14, three days
after that template date. Hypatia's own copy says so:

# JSON AssailReport from panic-attack; Logtalk removed 2026-04-14
report-format = "json"

— hyperpolymath/hypatia .machine_readable/descriptiles/NEUROSYM.a2ml, v0.2.0,
last-updated 2026-08-07.

Where the stale copy lives

  • .machine_readable/descriptiles/NEUROSYM.a2ml
  • robot-repo-automaton/templates/skeleton/.machine_readable/descriptiles/NEUROSYM.a2ml
(this is the one stamped into repos)
  • robot-repo-automaton/.machine_readable/6a2/NEUROSYM.a2ml

robot-repo-automaton/src/skeleton.rs references the descriptile set, so the
skeleton template is the likely source of the fleet-wide copies.

Blast radius

A code search for "report-format" logtalk in the org returns 367 hits
(several per repo, ~N repos). Each one declares a report format the reasoner no
longer produces; any tool that reads report-format to decide how to parse
Hypatia output will look for Logtalk terms that are never emitted. Repos
typically have zero .lgt files, so there is nothing to parse either way.

hyperpolymath/nextgen-typing carried a copy dated 2026-06-12 and fixed it
locally on 2026-11-01 (format json, with the removal date recorded in the
file); that repo emits no .lgt at all.

Proposed fix

In the template (and the skeleton), replace with

[metadata]
version = "0.2.0"
last-updated = "2026-08-07"

[hypatia-config]
scan-enabled = true
scan-depth = "standard"
# JSON AssailReport from panic-attack. Logtalk was removed as a report format on
# 2026-04-14 (hypatia .machine_readable/descriptiles/NEUROSYM.a2ml).
report-format = "json"

and consider a fix-retired-descriptile-policy.sh-style sweep for existing
report-format = "logtalk" copies, since the alternative is that they rot in
place: nothing reads them, so nothing fails.

Found while auditing descriptors in hyperpolymath/nextgen-typing (item 5 of a
documentation/proof consistency audit).
