Projects that stay safe across tabs and failed writes, exports that describe one project, captions that read the way a captioner would write them, and a service worker that lets releases through.

Projects

• A second tab can overwrite a project's saved state and delete the owner's draft #652 — only the tab that owns a project may write to it. A second tab could Save over the owner's state, delete its draft, rename or delete the project underneath it.
• Make a second tab on an owned project read-only until it takes ownership #653 — a second tab is read-only until it owns the project, and re-reads the project before taking over, so it no longer autosaves a stale copy over the owner's newer one. A Read-only pill sits at the transcript's corner for as long as the state lasts, and explains itself when clicked.
• A saved state file can pair an earlier transcript with later captions #654 — a saved state can no longer pair an earlier transcript with later captions. Every part of a state file is read before the first await.
• Duplicate reports success for an incomplete copy #655 — Duplicate publishes only a complete, validated copy, and says when it could not.
• A failed draft write is reported as success #659 — a failed draft write is reported as one. Leaving a document whose newest edit could not be saved now asks first. Save retires the draft strictly. Restore opens the newer of draft and saved instead of always the draft.

Export

• A media export can mix one project's media with another's transcript and metadata #656 — one export context per run. Editing, or opening another project, while the encoder ran put that project's transcript, captions and metadata beside the first project's media. Everything a run needs is captured at the click, media is resolved against the captured project, and every output derives from the capture.
• Exported caption timestamps can carry a four-digit millisecond field #657 — caption timestamps round to milliseconds first, then carry. 1.9995 s was written as 00:00:01.1000.
• A curated caption track whose every cue is cut is exported as regenerated captions #658 — a curated caption track cut away entirely stays empty, and is not replaced by regenerated captions.
• The karaoke WebVTT follows the caption cues word by word, so it shows the same words as the captions.

Captions

• Let captions fill across sentence ends, with a setting for whether a new paragraph starts a new caption (default off) #661 — short sentences share a caption. "Yes. No. Maybe." is no longer three cues. A whole sentence joins the caption before it when it fits, never across a long pause. A new setting, off by default, decides whether a new paragraph always starts a new caption.
• Abbreviations end a caption: "Dr.", "e.g." and "p.m." are read as the end of a sentence #662 — abbreviations no longer end a caption. Dotted abbreviations and initials are recognised by their form. Titles such as "Dr." come from a per-language data file, js/caption-abbreviations.js. A project's language is now recorded as a BCP-47 tag, as the format says. It was the picker's label. A project with no recorded language (auto-detect, Parakeet local) is read from its own words, and the guess is never saved.
• Dual-speaker captions, and a short sentence leading the long one after it #666 — two speakers may share a caption, and a short sentence leads the long one after it. A quick exchange generates -to start? / -Sure. in the Netflix form: a speaker to a line, a hyphen on each. The speaker record is per line. Coloured downloads colour each line and drop the hyphens. The paragraph setting turns sharing off.
• js/caption.js is vendored at 2.3.0 from hyperaudio-lite v2.6.6, where these rules were added as options (caption.js 2.2.0: sentence and paragraph rules as options hyperaudio-lite#289, caption.js 2.3.0: dual-speaker captions, leading sentences, and the speaker of each line hyperaudio-lite#292).

The page

• All modals should show the close button at all times #660 — every modal's close button stays in view however far its box is scrolled.
• Service worker pins returning visitors to the 1.0.0 page, and does not make the editor work offline #665 — returning visitors get the current release, and the editor works offline. The service worker had pinned them to the 1.0.0 page since 3 August, run against current scripts, and cached none of the page's own code. It is now network-first with a release-named cache and a full precache. A visitor pinned by the old worker is reloaded once, by themselves. VERSION in serviceworker.js moves with each release, and a unit test holds it to index.html's.

Gate: 155 unit; 472 e2e passed, 1 skipped (the known WebKit OPFS skip). The e2e suite now blocks service workers by default and drives the real worker in a spec of its own.
