Is it possible to place orders using wealthsimple API by code?

And tried something with the old library here: https://github.com/seansullivan44/Wealthsimple-Trade-Python to get acces the order history and stuff but got Method Not Allowed as a returned message.

Pretty sure their API supports it, since the mobile and web apps do use the API to place orders. But my library currently does not support that.

One would need to trace the HTTP requests made during a trade, on the web app, and then reproduce this in my library.
PR or HTTP trace would be welcome. Otherwise, I might look into it myself at some point, but not sure when.

Not sure the reporter is still tracking this, get_activities will cover order history needs entirely along with its provided options.

Placing orders is still not implemented, but assuming there is API call associated with it, it could probably be done. But it is beyond my needs, and I don't think I will be placing orders using it. I could probably help implement it as well if trace details were provided, but I won't be able to test the API/functionality without user feedback.

This might be interesting.

One thing I find that WS (and just about every other self-directed brokerage) lacks is official functionality for automating one's (i.e. monthly) retirement paycheque.

Every month I have to log into WS and sell some holdings in various accounts (RRIFs, non-reg.s, etc. for both my wife and I -- to effect tax efficient drawdowns) to give us money to spend every month (and transfer some funds to another account to save for things that are not monthly expenses). And it's not like it's even a once-per-month thing either because of course one day you have to log in to sell various holdings in various accounts to generate some cash and then come back a day or two later to transfer that generated cash into your spending account.

Being able to just enter that year's monthly amounts that each account should generate and then let a tool do the selling and transferring each month would be wonderful.

Once I have all of my pending transfers to WS settled so that it is my only source of my monthly paycheque I might look into this a bit more.

That said, I really wish WS would introduce some official automation around this sort of thing.
