Objective

The goal is to build an open dictionary across many languages (English, French, German...).

Differentiators

The main differentiators of DiiCT from other dictionaries are:

• users can add/contribute new words and languages
• users can store/save/mark words in their profiles
• users can search words across different languages using wildcards (useful e.g. for crosswords solving)
• ...

Stack

The current technology stack is PHP and MySQL. It shouldn't necessarily stay this way. If there are good reasons (which ones?) a NoSQL database can be used on the backend.
