Summary

Add support for the MediaTek MT7922 / AMD RZ616 variant that reports PCI ID 14c3:0616.

The AirportMtkWlan wrapper IOPCIPrimaryMatch already includes 0x061614c3, but the HAL device table in SimpleMtkWlan/hal_mwx/MtkMwx.cpp only listed 14c3:7961, 14c3:0608 and 14c3:7922; mwx_attach only treated 14c3:7922 as MWX_HW_MT7922. As a result the wrapper matched but the HAL rejected the device, AirportItlwm never instantiated and no Wi-Fi interface appeared.

This change:

  • adds 14c3:0616 to mwx_devices
  • treats 14c3:0616 as MWX_HW_MT7922 in mwx_attach (same firmware/HAL path as 14c3:7922)

Test

Hardware: ASUS TUF A16 FA608FM, Ryzen 9 9955HX, MediaTek MT7922 / AMD RZ616 (14c3:0616).

OS: macOS 26.7.1 (Darwin 25.6.0), AirportMtkWlan 1.5.0 built for Tahoe.

Result with this patch:

  • AirportItlwm attaches (IOMatchedAtBoot=Yes)
  • Wi-Fi interface en1 appears
  • Connected to a 5 GHz network, 802.11ac, 80 MHz, 520 TX rate
  • Firmware reports MT7922
  • No device-id spoof is needed; the real 14c3:0616 is used
  • OpenCore: DisableIoMapper=true, SSDT-Disable_Network_GPP6.aml disabled

Build used the standalone script with CLT + MacKernelSDK:

./build-macos.sh Release AirportMtkWlan

Notes

  • The wrapper IOPCIPrimaryMatch already has 0x061614c3, so only the HAL table/branch was missing.
  • Bluetooth on the same card is handled separately (SimpleMtkBtFw fork + BlueToolFixup + NVRAM).

The RZ616 reports 14c3:0616 but is an MT7922-family device. Add it to
mwx_devices and treat it as MWX_HW_MT7922 in mwx_attach, matching the
existing 14c3:7922 path.

Tested on ASUS TUF A16 FA608FM (Ryzen 9 9955HX), macOS 26.7.1 with
AirportMtkWlan 1.5.0 Tahoe: native Wi-Fi menu, AirportItlwm attaches,
connected 802.11ac 5 GHz 80 MHz, no device-id spoof.
