• The shared library (libj.so) demands an executable stack, which modern Linux systems block for security (Data Execution Prevention). This is fixed by clearing the executable flag on the library using patchelf --clear-execstack libj.so.
• Use Dockerfile ADD to download the tar file.
• Split into a build and run layer; set up /opt/j9.5 in build then copy it to the run layer
• Remove dependency on sponge in the runner.

Switching to j9.7 causes a bunch of test failures so I left that alone for now.

The j9.7 failures are likely caused by this section in run.ijs at line 34:
