The existing 12-cell CI failed before tests because project.license used a legacy table together with PEP 639 license-files. Use the SPDX MIT string, setuptools>=77 and remove the obsolete license classifier; license files and version 0.1.4 remain unchanged. Update the metadata assertion and supply conditional test-only tomli for supported Python 3.10. Fix five exposed lint findings through import ordering and explicit check=False, preserving the existing subprocess behavior and all lint rules. Local evidence: offline editable metadata preparation fails before and succeeds after the repair; all 50 tests pass on Windows Python 3.12; full Ruff and git diff checks pass. Exact-head native CI remains required. Author model: gpt-6.1-sol (Codex). Independent model review pending. Draft only; merges disabled. No release, runtime mirror update or provider execution is claimed.

Independent review — Codex (GPT-6), separate reviewer session.

Reviewed exact head a81b8a403506fbd8af45e7a17c4e7f6d166e7b56: the complete five-file diff and all changed files, package/import and adapter context, and the unchanged CI workflow. No blocking findings.

The SPDX MIT declaration and setuptools>=77 repair package metadata while retaining both license files, version 0.1.4 and Python >=3.10. Conditional tomli covers Python 3.10 in both test extras. Import ordering and explicit check=False preserve the existing subprocess result/error behavior; the resolver adapter and ladder regressions pass.

Independent local validation on Windows / Python 3.12.10:

  • PYTEST_DISABLE_PLUGIN_AUTOLOAD=1 python -m pytest -o addopts= -q: 50 passed (6.43 s).
  • python -m ruff check --no-cache . (Ruff 0.16.8) and git diff --check ec1548d56779f056b12b7bcca81b2819e7f76756...HEAD: passed.
  • python -m build --no-isolation: wheel and sdist built. Wheel metadata contains License-Expression: MIT, both declared License-File entries, unchanged version/Python requirement, and conditional test-only tomli. Both license files are present in the wheel.
  • Isolated python -I import and --help directly from the built wheel: passed; no shared environment installation or production provider execution.

Exact-head CI run https://github.com/ellmos-ai/source-resolver/actions/runs/38808141983: 12/12 successful. Job records independently confirm GitHub Actions hosted runners and all actual ubuntu-latest/windows-latest/macos-latest labels across Python 3.10–3.13.
