EDIT: logging.shutdown() seems to do the trick.

    Exactly right — logging.shutdown() closes the file. As of v2.0 (#19) this is documented in the README example, and the new HTMLFileHandler also writes the closing tags on close() and flushes records as they are emitted, so the page is viewable even mid-run.
