The README was 597 lines with emoji headings and a 40-row feature table. This rewrites the top for people who arrive from Reddit or HN and moves the rest, unchanged, to docs/FEATURES.md.

README (170 lines, plain headings, no emojis)

  • One sentence on what it is, then a real screen recording: a GIF (5.6 MB) made from the site's hero video, with a link to the full MP4.
  • How it works in five points: claude -p per turn, agent = git repo, browser-use over CDP, vault fills, scheduler and main agent.
  • Install. Free from source in three commands, with times measured today on an Apple silicon Mac with an empty pnpm cache: clone 2 min (330 MB), pnpm install 3 min, pnpm dev up in 3 s. Pro: the official builds, with the 7-day start without a key or card.
  • What stays local and what goes to Anthropic, including the optional services.
  • Security model in four points plus the bypass-permissions caveat, linking SECURITY.md.
  • "Is this allowed with a Claude subscription?", quoting Anthropic's legal page and the help center update of October 7.
  • Phone: Android on Google Play, iOS from source for now.

Wrong claims fixed

  • "Unsigned builds" and "signed apps for macOS, Windows and Linux": the macOS app is signed and notarized, Windows isn't code-signed.
  • "build it ... until it's in the stores": Android is on Google Play.
  • docs/FEATURES.md links to the pricing page instead of quoting $39/$29, because the price changes on November 1.

Small fix that came up while testing the free path
On a fresh install the first pnpm dev showed "Sign in to Godmode" and asked for an access token. Vite read the token file when it loaded its config, and the core writes that file a moment later. The dev server now reads it on every page load. I checked it with a fresh clone and an empty data folder: onboarding opens directly. Desktop typecheck and vite build pass.

Before merging

  • The README says the official builds run 7 days without a key or card. Merge this after the keyless trial ships, or change that sentence.
  • All relative links and anchors resolve. All 31 external links return 200.

…o docs/FEATURES.md

One sentence on what Godmode is, a real screen recording (GIF from the
site's hero video), how it works in five points, the free path from source
with measured times, the official builds with the 7-day start, what stays
local and what goes to Anthropic, the security model with the bypass caveat,
and the answer to "is this allowed with a Claude subscription?" with
Anthropic's own pages.

Fixes wrong claims: Windows builds aren't code-signed, the macOS app is
signed and notarized; Android is on Google Play, iOS is built from source
for now. The feature table, screenshots and setup guides move unchanged
to docs/FEATURES.md, without emojis. The price there now links to the site,
since it changes on November 1.
Vite read the token file once when it loaded its config, and on a fresh
install the core writes that file a moment later. So the very first
`pnpm dev` showed "Sign in to Godmode" and asked for a token from a
`godmode` binary a source user doesn't have. The dev server now reads the
file on every page load.
