[Feature] Include Autohand Code CLI in Cloudflare skills installation #16276

Open

Description

@igorcosta

Describe the feature

Please include Autohand Code CLI in Wrangler's Cloudflare skills installation and update flow. Its npm package is autohand-cli, its executable is autohand, and its official site is https://autohand.ai/code/cli/.

Wrangler currently locks rosie-skills to 0.8.1. That published registry does not include Autohand. The published 0.8.5 registry includes autohand-code, displayed as Autohand Code CLI, detects ~/.autohand, and installs skills into ~/.autohand/skills (project skills use .autohand/skills). These paths match Autohand's skill documentation.

Proposed change

Raise Wrangler's rosie-skills dependency floor to 0.8.5 and update the lockfile. Add regression coverage against the real Rosie registry, plus coverage for Autohand in Wrangler's install/update flows. No new installer or agent registry is needed in Wrangler.

Companion documentation will describe installation in cloudflare/skills and OAuth setup in cloudflare/mcp. The implementation and validation results are recorded below.

Implementation status (2026-10-16):

Submitted #16286; the Vouch gate automatically closed it because this account is not a registered collaborator. Review follow-ups are published on autohand-code-support, at commit 32013d9.

  • Existing installations require wrangler --install-skills once to rediscover Autohand; subsequent updates use the stored agent list. The changeset now explains this.
  • Corrected the Windows regression fixture to isolate USERPROFILE as well as the shared helper's HOME.
  • Local skills suite: 90 passed; type-aware lint and package/test type checks passed.
  • Windows skills validation passed: 89 passed, one existing test skipped.
  • Initial aggregate CI also had Miniflare email and C3 template dependency failures; the aggregate suite is not claimed green.

Maintainer triage is needed to reopen #16286 under the collaborator policy. The closed PR's recorded head predates these follow-ups, so the branch above contains the current patch.

Companion MCP setup documentation is open at cloudflare/mcp#291, with 482 tests passing. The Skills README proposal at cloudflare/skills#240 was closed by a maintainer without comments.
