Publish or pin airbyte-server-models before release.
Could we replace the unreleased dependency before shipping? A built wheel will declare Requires-Dist: airbyte-server-models, but downstream pip installs do not use uv's source override. Installation will fail until the package is published to PyPI.

🚫 Not fixing in this PR. This is intentional and by AJ's request: airbyte-server-models is not yet on PyPI (it ships from https://github.com/airbytehq/airbyte-ops-mcp/pull/1326), so the git source is a deliberate temporary state. The TK-TODO comment directly above the source entry and the "Risks" section of the PR description flag that the pin must move to a published version before the next PyAirbyte release.

🟡 Organization email lookup returns empty
When CloudOrganization starts without an email, email returns None without loading organization information. ID and workspace lookups therefore omit available emails.
Learn more
CloudOrganization instances from workspace lookup, Agents conversion, and direct organization-ID lookup are created without _email. Previously, the email property called _fetch_organization_info() and read email from that response. The generated OrganizationInfoRead model now discards or does not expose that response field, while the property no longer attempts any lookup. Consumers such as describe_cloud_organization therefore return no email for these paths.
Example: CloudClient.get_organization(organization_id="org-1").email returned [email protected] when the organization-info response included it. It now returns None because _get_organization_by_id does not seed _email.
Recommended fix: Preserve the email field in the typed organization-info representation or obtain it through the organization-list response, then restore lazy fallback behavior in CloudOrganization.email.

🚫 Not fixing. Per the platform OpenAPI spec, OrganizationInfoRead (the /workspaces/get_organization_info / /organizations/get_organization_info response) is "limited info about an organization that is safe to expose to organization members" and defines only organizationId, organizationName, sso, scim, billing, organizationPlanId — no email. The old info.get("email") was reading a field the contract never provides, so it already returned None against a spec-conformant server; the generated model just makes that explicit. email is only populated from OrganizationRead (the /organizations/list_by_user_id path), which is unchanged. If we want email on the by-ID path, that's a follow-up to fall back to list_by_user_id rather than something this migration regressed.

- A 2xx response containing invalid JSON raises
requests' JSON decode error fromresponse.json(), not Pydantic'sValidationError, so it escapes this block as a raw exception instead of theAirbyteErrorused for malformed Config API responses. Catch the JSON decode/value error here as well so callers get the same error contract and response context.

BuilderProjectForDefinitionResponse.builderProjectIdis nullable when a YAML definition has no Connector Builder project. ConvertingNonewithstr(...)stores the literal"None", so downstream checks such asif not builder_project_idno longer detect the missing project and build URLs or issue follow-up requests againstNone. - This removes the lazy lookup that previously populated
emailfromget_organization_info()when the constructor did not receive an email. Organizations created from an ID or workspace (CloudClient._get_organization_by_id()andCloudWorkspace.get_organization()) therefore now always reportNonefor this public property, even when the Config API provides the value; preserve the lookup/population behavior or explicitly handle the generated response's email field.

Partly mitigated in 30edcb4. The app token is now least-privilege (permission-contents: read, scoped to airbytehq/airbyte-ops-mcp only). On the exposure itself: python_lint/python_pytest trigger on pull_request, so fork PRs never receive these secrets. Same-repo branches already need write access, and those authors can read secrets by editing any workflow, so loading the action from the PR checkout doesn't widen access. The slash-command workflows (test-pr-command, etc.) already used this pattern before this PR. The action is temporary (TK-TODO) and goes away once airbyte-server-models is published to PyPI. Leaving this thread open for a maintainer to decide whether to move it to a trusted reusable workflow in the meantime.

Overview
👉 TL;DR: PyAirbyte stops using the vendor-generated Airbyte API client library and calls the Airbyte Cloud API directly, decoding responses with Airbyte's own generated data models. The old client failed on newer API data (new mapper types, the
queuedjob status), which broke describing some customers' connections.Specifically,
airbyte-api(Speakeasy) is removed. Every Public API call inairbyte/_util/api_util.pynow goes through_make_public_api_request(plainrequests) and decodes intoairbyte_server_models.public_apimodels, and the Config API calls useairbyte_server_models._config_api.CloudWorkspace,CloudConnection,CloudConnectionInfoand MCP tool outputs are unchanged.Depends on https://github.com/airbytehq/airbyte-ops-mcp/pull/1326:
