LocEvent · Live Demo
A full-stack platform for discovering local events across the Netherlands, combining admin-created events with ~900 real Ticketmaster listings from our data pipeline.
Team of five across three tracks: frontend, backend and data.
What I built on the backend:
- 🔐 Authentication — sign-up, login and logout with HttpOnly cookie sessions (only token hashes stored), plus Google OAuth with CSRF protection and verified-email checks
- 🔑 Password recovery — email reset links via Gmail SMTP with rate limiting and auto-login after reset, plus password change for signed-in users
- 👤 User dashboard — profile management, account deletion, and Saved / Going lists
- 🗂️ Unified event registry — migration and logic that let users save and RSVP to both internal and external events the same way
- 🌦️ Smart event features — address autocomplete (Nominatim), weather forecast for the exact event start time (Open-Meteo), and an AI assistant on event pages (Gemini)
- 💬 Feedback system — user feedback form with an admin review view
- 📄 Documented all of the above (8 technical docs)
