Website half of nccs-contracts ADR 0050 (PR #95), BACKLOG Z30. Draft until nccs-data-bmf #58 merges and the EIN index is published; the page fetches unified/bmf/ein-index/latest/{prefix}.json, which does not exist yet.

  • /datasets/ntee/lookup/: an EIN box (any common form), one fetch of the matching four-digit-prefix shard, and a result card: name, city and state, EIN, NTEE code with the IRS wording and the version 2 form, exemption subsection, ruling year, IRS status, and the span of IRS releases the EIN appears in, stamped with the index vintage. Clear messages for a malformed EIN, an EIN not in any release, and an organization with no code on file. The EIN goes into the URL (?ein=) so a result can be shared.
  • The standing disclaimer: NCCS does not assign or change codes; the IRS does; link to the guide's change procedure.
  • Links added: "Find your code" as the first button on the NTEE guide and "Look up an EIN" on the dataset page.

Previewed against a local copy of the built shards (Urban Institute, 52-0880375, resolves to V34 Urban Studies, PSB-V34-RG, ruling year 1968, releases 1989-06 to 2026-07).

New /datasets/ntee/lookup/: enter an EIN, the page fetches the one
four-digit-prefix shard of the EIN index and shows the organization's
name, place, NTEE code with IRS wording, version 2 form, exemption
subsection, ruling year, IRS status and the releases it appears in,
with the standing note that only the IRS can change a code. Linked
from the NTEE guide and the dataset page.

Review point 4 fixed: each lookup takes a sequence number; a response whose number is no longer the latest is dropped before it can render or show an error, so submitting EIN A then EIN B always ends on B.
