References and relevant issues

Depends on TissUUmaps/TissUUmaps#307 (docs moved to docs/, published to releases/ here), for the docs this site renders.

Type of change

  • Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
  • Improvement (non-breaking change which modifies an existing feature)
  • Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to not work as expected)
  • Other

List of changes made

  • Style: SciLifeLab visual identity (Graphic Manual 2025): Lato, the brand colors, the SciLifeLab, NBIS and BIIF logos in the navbar, a slim footer, and a beta banner pointing to the TissUUmaps 3 website.
  • Menu: Getting started, Documentation, Gallery and About, next to the docs version. The API docs move from the Packages sidebar into the documentation, as a category with a generated index of the packages, read from each version's typedoc sidebar.
  • Landing page: video placeholder, short introduction with the main features, "Open TissUUmaps" (latest app), and links to the other sections.
  • Gallery: one Markdown file per project in gallery/ (screenshot, .tm4 project, tags, data source), read by the blog plugin and shown as cards, per tag and on a page per project. Adding a project needs no code (gallery/README.md, _template/); a missing field fails the build with the file and the field named.
  • Getting started and About: Markdown (MDX) pages, with a few layout components available without an import (steps, boxes, buttons, figures, publications, logos). Markdown pages and gallery projects have an "Edit this page" link.
  • Fix: app/ redirected to the latest line with a meta refresh, which dropped the query, so app/?project=<url> opened the app without the project. A script now keeps the query and the fragment.
  • README: where to edit each page.

Further comments

Lato and the SciLifeLab brand colors, the SciLifeLab, NBIS and BIIF logos
in the navbar, a slim footer, a banner pointing to the TissUUmaps 3 website
during the beta, and the TissUUmaps logo with white letters, which also
reads on a dark background.
The meta refresh dropped the query, so a link such as
app/?project=<url> opened the latest app without the project. A script now
redirects with the query and the fragment; the meta refresh stays as the
fallback without JavaScript.
One Markdown file per project in gallery/, with a screenshot, the project
file it opens in TissUUmaps, tags and the data source, so that projects can
be added on GitHub without touching code (see gallery/README.md). The blog
plugin reads the files; our own pages show them as cards, per tag, and
each project on its own page. A missing field fails the build with the file
and the field named.
Both are Markdown (MDX) pages, so that they can be edited on GitHub. A few
components are available in every Markdown file without an import, for
numbered steps, side-by-side boxes, buttons, figures, publications and
logos. Markdown pages get an "Edit this page" link.
A video placeholder next to a short introduction, the main features and an
"Open TissUUmaps" button to the latest app, followed by links to Getting
started, the documentation, the gallery and the source code.
The menu now has Getting started, Documentation, Gallery and About, next to
the docs version. The API docs move from their own Packages sidebar into
the documentation, as a category with a generated index of the packages,
read from the typedoc sidebar of each docs version. The app is linked from
the pages, so the menu no longer has App and GitHub links.

…ent funders

About opens with who develops TissUUmaps today; the history starts in 2011
and goes on to the research project of 2015. Funding lists the current
funders first, BIIF among them, and the past grants as past.
scilifelab.css holds only the SciLifeLab colors and typeface as variables,
so that they can be updated in one place. The theme, the components and the
announcement bar use the variables; the shades of the primary color are
mixed from it.
With a shorter history, the figure next to it reached into the
publications and narrowed them.
Page components (the gallery pages) go to components/pages, and the
components available in Markdown to components/markdown, one file per
component with its styles. The button becomes a component there, with a
large size for the landing page, instead of a shared CSS class that pages
had to import before their own styles. gallery.ts moves to src/.
A custom navbar item type replaces the HTML string in the config. Its
component lists the partners and shows the dark variant of a logo with
ThemedImage, and keeps the logo sizes in its own styles.
…ding

The generator and the typedoc sidebar loader move from the config to
tissuumaps-docs.ts, next to the loading of the docs versions; the config
only references the generator. sidebars.ts cannot hold it, as Docusaurus
reads every export of the sidebars file as a sidebar.
