📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Protect the destructor of parallel_scheduler_bulk_item_receiver_proxy too.
The base destructor is now protected and non-virtual. parallel_scheduler_bulk_item_receiver_proxy (lines 98-102) does not declare a destructor, so it gets an implicit public, non-virtual one. Backends receive a parallel_scheduler_bulk_item_receiver_proxy&. Code like delete &proxy therefore still compiles, and it is undefined behavior for the concrete concrete_proxy. Compilers with -Wnon-virtual-dtor enabled also warn on this class. Add a protected defaulted destructor to apply the P3804R2 "no polymorphic destruction" rule at both interface levels.

I just pushed a fix for the clang-format spacing issues! Regarding the other failing check (Linux CI Release, C++20 Modules), it looks like an unrelated upstream infrastructure issue. Clang 22 is throwing an ICE (exit code 139 / compiler segfault) while instantiating a template in tests/performance/local/stream_report.cpp. Since that's completely outside the scope of the parallel_scheduler updates, I left that file untouched. Let me know if you need me to do anything else here! |

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winHandle a pre-existing stop in the adapted bulk path.
When

Important: Paper says no such thing. stdexec DOES early-return on pre-stopped. operation_state::start() also early returns. Add the same pre-stopped check-in do_bulk for consistency.

@charan-003 Done! Aligned virtual_parallel_bulk_op::do_bulk with operation_state::start(): it now checks stop_token.stop_requested() upfront and immediately invokes set_stopped(HPX_MOVE(receiver_)) before scheduling or setting up callbacks. Tests are passing cleanly locally.

Proposed Changes
try_queryImplementation: Added the const-qualifiedtry_query<P>(Query)template toparallel_scheduler_receiver_proxy, backed by a protected type-erased virtual bridge (query_env_impl) utilizing RTTI.parallel_scheduler_receiver_proxyin accordance with P3804R2 Section 3.2, replacing it with a protected non-virtual destructor to prevent polymorphic deletion.inplace_stop_token(Section 3.3). Bothoperation_stateandvirtual_parallel_bulk_opusestd::conditional_tto determine if the receiver's token is already aninplace_stop_token(forwarding it with zero overhead) or if aninplace_stop_sourceand callback bridge need to be allocated.stop_callback_immediately prior to invoking completion handlers (set_value,set_error,set_stopped) across all concrete receiver proxies to prevent the callback from firing concurrently into a moved-from receiver or executing its destructor after the state is freed.try_query<inplace_stop_token>behavior across the type-erased boundary, correct handling of unsupported queries, and token adaptation on the virtual bulk dispatch path.Any background context you want to provide?
This PR builds upon the recent P2079 infrastructure (PR #6655) by closing the environment-querying ABI gap defined in P3804R2. This sets the architectural stage for
task_schedulerbulk acceleration (P3927R2). Static analysis previously identified a concurrency hazard regarding the stop callback's lifetime during execution transfer; the implementation has been hardened to reset the callback prior to transferring control back to the continuation. The zero-cost abstraction for the stop token adaptation has been verified via AST expansion to compile away completely when nativeinplace_stop_tokens are supplied.Checklist
