The second real-geography experimental map, on the same footing as #1 (which this branch is based on, so the diff is the one file; when #1 lands this retargets to main): Europe without Russia, 502×512 tiles at 8 km a tile, drawn by the game's geo-map engine from Natural Earth and GEBCO.

  • Iceland to the Black Sea, Lapland to Crete; Anatolia, the Maghreb's coast and Russia to Moscow are drawn but hold no ore.
  • Eight seats, a capital each, ordered so any prefix is spread: London (an island seat), Kyiv, Madrid, Stockholm, Rome, Berlin, Athens, Paris.
  • The Alps, Pyrenees, Carpathians, Dinarics, Apennines and Scandes as massifs with a rim at a thousand metres; the taiga in clumps; the great rivers bridged where the trunk roads cross and forded every eighteen tiles; eight straits kept open (Gibraltar and the Great Belt two wide, the rest a gunboat's width).
  • The Maginot Line as sandbags for Paris (the Saar gap open, as it was) and Hadrian's Wall for London.
  • 301 deposits, 297 props, 112 KB; tools/check.mjs passes.

Drawn from Natural Earth and GEBCO by the game's geo-map engine: 502×512 at
8 km a tile, eight seats a capital each (London, Kyiv, Madrid, Stockholm,
Rome, Berlin, Athens, Paris), the Maginot Line and Hadrian's Wall as
sandbags, the straits cut open. Experimental, like China: it needs a game
with MAX_MAP_SIDE at 512.
