Each push to a branch with an open pull request ran CI twice: once for push (all branches) and once for pull_request. The concurrency groups use github.ref, which differs between the two events, so they never deduplicated.

The jobs in apple.yml, linux.yml and android.yml now run on pull_request only for pull requests from forks:

if: github.event_name == 'push' || github.event.pull_request.head.repo.full_name != github.repository
  • Pushes to every branch still run CI, and their checks show on the pull request because checks attach to the commit.
  • Pull requests from forks still run CI through pull_request.
  • Trade-off: pull requests from this repository no longer test the merge commit with main.

On this pull request, each workflow should show the pull_request run as skipped and the push run as the real one.

Every workflow runs on pushes to any branch and on pull requests, so a
push to a branch with an open pull request ran CI twice. Jobs now skip
the pull_request event unless the pull request comes from a fork; the
push run's checks appear on the pull request, since checks attach to
the commit.
