Rawframe

Rawframe is a performance-oriented, network-first engine and toolchain for 2D and 3D games and real-time simulations. The native core is C++23; gameplay and tooling are written in Luau.

The project is in its foundation phase: the architecture is specified and the first repository tooling is being built. There are no releases yet, and every surface is unstable.

For an overview of the project, its plans, and common questions, see the FAQ.

License

Rawframe is source-available under the Rawframe Source-Available License; see LICENSE.md. In short: free to use, modify, and self-host; commercial standalone exports owe 5% of a product's lifetime gross revenue above USD 100,000; building a competing engine or distribution platform with it is not permitted. The license text is authoritative, not this summary.
