Changes

Backend users need to connect application spans to the person and session that caused a request. Add setup steps to the existing SDK and backend framework guides. Reuse each application's PostHog client and tracing provider. State the setup order, request lifetime, explicit identity rules, and background-work limits.

The Node guides cover Express, Fastify, Hono, NestJS, Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Remix, React Router, Astro, and TanStack Start. The Workers guide uses explicit event IDs because its edge client has no working ambient context bridge. The Convex guide passes IDs explicitly between functions and uses the Node bridge only in Node actions. PHP Fiber, Phoenix adapter/process, and sampled-parent limits are explicit. Python and Django settings match SDK 7.71.0.

Release gate: Keep this PR in draft until the linked SDK changes are merged and released. Add the exact minimum PostHog package versions before this docs PR becomes ready. This PR does not mean the new APIs are available in published packages.

Tracks sdk-specs#128. Implementation PRs: Node.js, Python bridge, Python adapters, Ruby/Rails, Go, .NET, PHP, Elixir, Next.js/Nuxt, and Active Job.

Validation:

Loaded the changed guides in the local Gatsby browser before and after the edits. Each checked page returned HTTP 200 with no new console error signatures or page exceptions.
Checked the examples against real framework runtimes, including concurrent requests, error paths, explicit IDs, and expired scopes. Workers and Convex limits come from runtime checks, rather than an assumption that all Node APIs work there.
Ran the repository MDX formatting and normal commit hooks. Preserved existing frontmatter and unrelated formatting. git diff --check passes.
The Vercel preview remains unchecked. The release gate below remains open until the required SDK versions exist.

Models: GPT-6 (Codex) and GPT-6 Astra, through PostHog Desktop. Used the GitHub CLI, framework runtimes, local Gatsby tools, and Playwright. Human-driven, agent-assisted work.
