codecs.open()emits aDeprecationWarningon Python 3.14, which fails test suites that run with-W error(like Kingfisher Collect's).The writes use
newline="", to keep the previous behavior ofcodecs.open(), which doesn't translate newlines (e.g. to\r\non Windows).
