v1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@RealDenied RealDenied released this 05 Oct 15:55

Adds a configurable prefix for bot names.

New

BotNamePrefix — put in front of every bot's name, so it shows on the scoreboard, kill feed and chat. The floating tag above their heads is unchanged.

// Put in front of every bot's name, e.g. "[BOT] " turns "Kim" into "[BOT] Kim".
// Used as-is, so include a trailing space if you want one. Blank leaves names alone.
"BotNamePrefix": "",
  • Applies to every bot on both teams. Never HLTV, never a real player, and never a bot somebody has taken over.
  • Reconciled on the same sweep as the tags, so a new bot is renamed within a sweep of spawning.
  • sw_botags reload with a different prefix swaps the old one for the new rather than stacking them up.
  • Blanking the prefix, setting Enabled to false, or unloading the plugin gives every bot its own name back.
  • Names are clamped to the engine's 127-byte limit.
  • sw_botags status now shows the current prefix.

Blank by default, so updating changes nothing until you set it.

Upgrading

Drop the new DLL in and restart, or sw plugins load BotTagsManager.

Your existing BotTagsManager.jsonc is not rewritten, so add "BotNamePrefix" to it yourself. Only a fresh install gets it written in for you.

v1.0.0

@RealDenied RealDenied released this 26 Aug 18:09

First release.

A floating tag over the bots on the other team. The game already marks your own side out for you; this covers the ones you are up against.

  • Coloured by the bot's team, in the game's own blue and gold
  • Drawn in Stratum2, the game's UI font, unlit so it reads the same in any light
  • Occluded by walls rather than drawn through them
  • !botags reload for tuning colour and height without bouncing the server

Install: extract into addons/swiftlys2/plugins/, so you end up with addons/swiftlys2/plugins/BotTagsManager/BotTagsManager.dll. Restart, or sw plugins load BotTagsManager.

A commented config is written on first load to addons/swiftlys2/configs/plugins/BotTagsManager/BotTagsManager.jsonc.

Requires SwiftlyS2 1.4.5 or newer with the managed runtime enabled.
