According to a PubMed study by J C Norcross and D J Vangarelli, only 19% of people maintain their New Year's resolutions for 2 years. Those who kept to their resolutions were found to have significantly more motivation than their non-maintaining counterparts. Thus, KeepOn's goal is to help everyone stay motivated so they can complete their goals, New Year's or not.
- Motivational Speech Generator ~ Utilizing Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash generative AI, KeepOn creates uplifting messages to its users within a matter of seconds.
- Web-Based UI ~ For easier use, KeepOn features a simple, web-based UI.
- Minimal Dependencies ~ KeepOn is a straightforward, Python-based tool with only two dependencies--check NOTICE.md for more information.
To run it locally,
- Clone the repository.
- Next, install dependencies using the command
pip install -r requirements.txt. - Replace the
apiKeyvariable inmotivational_speech_maker.pywith your own Google Gemini API key. - Run with the command
streamlit run main.py.

This website was a bit of a creativity test, for I imposed the following restrictions on its development:
- It had to use as few dependencies as possible.
- It had to be a relatively small project--a speedy creation, if you will.
- And, for the meat of the challenge, it couldn't outright use HTML or CSS files.
I will note--I allowed myself to update the project (for general maintenance, such as revising the README or updating dependencies for security) as needed.
