• engineering.md, hardware-workflow.md, git-workflow.md, notebooklm.md: PDF text removed; they point to pdf.md.
• .claude/settings.json and .claude/hooks/protect.json copied from AeroOptix-Horizon:
  • symbol, footprint, library/, STEP and .kicad_pro edits run without a prompt; schematic and PCB edits still ask
  • git push and gh pr create run without a prompt; git merge asks instead of being denied
  • Read(**/*.pdf) and pdftotext ask; PDFs under documents/schematic*/ and documents/manufacturing/ (both casings) are denied
• CLAUDE.md: KiCad lock and backup files, phase from README, notes on protect.json vs settings.json, Git approval rules, external-model provider limits, rule-file list, skill workflow, compact instructions.
• README.md and CONTRIBUTING.md: describe the new PDF rule; README "What's new in v3.1.0", guard note fixed to match protect.json, test table updated.
• .claude-plugin/plugin.json: version 3.1.0.

• Schematic synthetic 21/21 and PCB synthetic 31/31 passed (Python 3.14.7, Windows).
• settings.json, protect.json and plugin.json parse as JSON.
• Hook check: an Edit on a .kicad_pro path gets no decision from the hook; an Edit on a .kicad_sch path returns ask.
• Golden tests: NOT_VERIFIED (not re-run).
• The new deny entries for schematic and manufacturing PDFs: NOT_VERIFIED (need a new session to load settings).
• ERC/DRC: not applicable (no design files changed).

Impact / Risks

• Fewer prompts: git push, gh pr create and library edits no longer prompt. CLAUDE.md and the Git rules still require approval in chat for every Git write and design change; this relies on the model following the rules, not on a prompt.
• Permission deny patterns for PDF folders are path globs; a project with other folder names for schematic or manufacturing outputs needs its own deny lines.
• CLAUDE.md still has two language lines that disagree (reply in the user's language vs in English). Not changed in this PR.
